As a Financial Strategist with 1847Financial, Ken applies his expertise in systematic problem solving to optimize financial strategies for his clients. Ken is passionate about his work with families and individuals in need of financial guidance. Ken’s area of expertise lies in implementing tax smart strategies for retirement and college needs.
Prior to his work with 1847Financial, Ken was the Sole Proprietor of Extra Mile Tax Prep Service, Product Manager of Smiths Detection Inc., and the Vice President of Engineering and Operations at AccelaPure Corp. Ken’s past professional experience also includes positions at Berger Instruments Inc. and Hewlett Packard Company.
Ken received his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Iowa State University. He went on to pursue a Master of Science Degree in Management of Technology from National Technology University in Ft. Collins, Colorado. Ken is a FINRA Series 6, 63 and 65 licensed, and has completed the IRS Annual Filing Season Program for the past 2 years.
Growing up in Burlington, Iowa, Ken developed a love for the outdoors. He worked his way up to becoming an Eagle Scout and was also a past canoe guide in Minnesota. Ken has maintained an active lifestyle through hiking, camping, canoeing, kayaking, and scuba diving. Ken resides with his wife, Janet, in Newark, Delaware, where he is an Elder and the Treasurer of the Bible Fellowship Church. He is the father of three grown children, Jason, Stephanie and Caleb, and proud grandfather of 6 wonderful grandchildren.
